The Russian
River Valley's cool growing region makes for some spectacular examples
of California Chardonnay. This particular wine is a blend of some of our
favorite vineyards in the appellation, including the highly sought-after
Dutton Ranch and Martinelli Vineyards. Late harvested fruit was
hand-sorted and cold-soaked for 5 days. After gentle pressing, the wine
was aged in French oak barrels for nine months in the cool, humid Rutz
Cellars cave. Stirred on its lees every two weeks, the wine underwent
100% malolactic fermentation.
