Located along
the gentle, eastern-facing slopes of the Santa Lucia
Highlands, this vineyard enjoys the warm, inland days of the
valley, and the cooling effect of the Pacific Ocean in the evenings.
The soils of this vineyard are sandy loam with a volcanic
sub-surface layer, allowing good drainage. Hand-picked, crushed and
pressed, the must was cold-settled in tanks before being transferred to
French Oak barrels in the cave, where it underwent both alcoholic and
malolactic fermentation in the cool, constant temperature.
Lush and rich, this Chardonnay exhibits nut,
apple, floral and earth aromas on the nose.
The palate reveals nut, apple, tropical fruit and toasty oak
flavors, with a medium-full body and balanced acidity. To ensure maximum
flavor and ageability, this wine is unfined and unfiltered.
