1997 Martinelli Vineyard Pinot Noir

Martinelli Vineyard is a property well known for producing distinctive Pinot fruit with rich flavors and plenty of concentration.  The grapes for our 1997 Martinelli Pinot Noir were hand picked, hand sorted, de-stemmed and crushed into small, open top fermentors.  During fermentation, the cap of solids was submerged several times per day to extract layers of color and develop complex flavors.  The wine was transferred via gravity flow to a combination of 1-, 2-, and 3-year-old French oak barrels from Claude Gillet and Louis Latour, where it completed malolactic fermentation and was then left to age in our caves until August 1998, when it was bottled unfined and unfiltered.

This wine reveals ample black cherry, chocolate and coffee flavors that permeate through to a long, intense finish.  425 Cases Produced
