A 100%
Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine is made from grapes grown in vineyards
located on the eastern mountains of Napa Valley - a microclimate which
annually produces highly valued cabernet fruit. Keith Rutz maintains
close associations with the finest Cabernet producers in Napa valley,
and purchased this wine in the barrel in 1992. It then developed and
aged in the cave at Rutz Cellars until its release in March, 1995
Dark in color, deep in flavor, the 1991 Rutz Cellars Cabernet
Sauvignon is both full and subtle. Plum purple to the eye, this engaging
wine presents aromas of cassis, cedar, and olive. Currant, blackberry,
and chocolate flavors balance the soft tannins and rich vanilla
character contributed by 28 months aging in French oak. The wine's
harmony extends into a luscious finish. Very appealing at the time of
release, it will also reward the collector who cellars fine wines. |
