Rutz Cellars Dutton Ranch Russian River Valley Pinot Noir ($45)
Owner Keith Rutz seeks outstanding parcels in
Sonoma, and he has worked with this one for 15 years, creating a
wine that nods at the Burgundian style Rutz
loves. This wine offsets savory notes with sweet, syrupy fruit
and beautiful mint highlights. The peacock-tail finish is the
masterstroke here, a flourish that goes on and on.

After years of living in the Russian River Valley and
inspired by the greatness of Burgundy, Keith Rutz dreamed of making great
classically-styled wines from the best Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes
available in California. His goal was - and is - to craft small lots of
wine that will be recognized as worthy competitors to the top French
products.
We guarantee that from harvest to bottling, Rutz
Cellars wines are subjected to minimal handling and maximum care,
underscoring our commitment to make the finest wines possible. Don't
expect boring wines from Rutz Cellars.
We hope you like them, and we invite you to share our
passion and dedication to distinction and quality. .
